One of my favorite Narrative Food projects during the pandemic was a Woman’s Month collaboration with the incredible Silk Road Supper Collective, a group of amazing women chefs from all around the world, who connected in Los Angeles over their shared love of food and cooking. Each one of these women is a powerhouse, you can explore individually (links below). From Michelle Lainez, a farm to table Columbian chef specializing in zero waste and conscious eating, to Parisa Parnian, an Iranian-American multi-disciplinary visual artist and culinary creative, to Leyna Lightman, a curator, artist, activist with Social good top of mind, not to mention Ferial Sadeghian — the hotelier behind Cuyama Buckhorn, Komal Savaria, a chef from Mumbai, and Cecilia Leung, a globe-trotting chef specializing in cuisine from Hong Kong, each one of these women has an amazing story to share — and delicious rice-based recipes to celebrate the Silk Road!

They created an incredible menu of recipes to accompany our Silk Road Collective themed home delivery boxes in March 2021, about a year into the pandemic. Also, Ashley Leon created the most beautiful illustrations for each recipe. The box was accompanied by an online event with each of them talking about their rice dishes, and personal stories.
